Editorial and corrections policy
Our goal is to make public records easier to understand without overstating what they prove.
Source hierarchy
Official House and Senate filings control filer identity, ownership category, asset description, transaction type, dates, amount bands, amendments, and row count. Normalized pages are navigation aids; when they differ, the official filing controls.
Facts and interpretation
Reported fields are labeled as filing facts. Rankings, price comparisons, summaries, committee context, and AI-assisted analysis are derived and carry assumptions or limitations beside them. Committee membership is context, not evidence of motive, causation, or misconduct.
Review standard
Research should identify its authoring team, publication and update dates, data window, official sources reviewed, normalized records included, exclusions, and material calculation assumptions. Titles must not imply wrongdoing or intent beyond the evidence.
Corrections
Report a suspected error to info@moonveil.ai with the page URL and official filing. We review the source record, correct confirmed material errors, update the page date, and add a correction note to affected research.
Independence
The same standards apply to every party and chamber. Congressional Trader does not accept payment from a filer to alter coverage or conclusions and is not affiliated with Congress or a political party.
